The X Factor Winner landed himself in hot water yesterday after he made homophobic remarks about Micky Worthless, after the rapper mocked the singer as a 'pop puppet' in a cover of his song. The singer issued a public apology via twitter, writing: 'Any offence I have caused by using the term 'queer' in my rap battle with MC Worthless. I just have to say I'm extremely disappointed in myself for being so naive with the diss track I made for an unknown rapper recently.
I would just like to make it completely clear that it was not meant in anyway as a reference to homosexuality.'
He also added: 'I realise where the term has come from in meaning... but used in the context of the rap battles I have grown up with it has come to mean something completely different... That said, I understand why it could cause offence and that definitely wasn't my intention.'
Following his twitter apology to Little Britain Star Matt Lucas who was offended by his comments, the singer was left infuriated by a tweet sent by Frankie Boyle which appeared to insult the singer's intelligence.James, 25, tweeted: '[I'm] one of the many demons in your mind telling you to insult everybody in the hope of feeling somewhat important. I Luv u x.'The 41-year-old Scottish funnyman then replied: 'From the pic I thought it was a child's drawing of a monster.Sit down &( so far as it's technically possible) shut your mouth.'The Impossible hit-maker then continued: 'You are a 38 yr old man what are you doing? You know nothing about music and comedy it seems.. I feel sorry for your kids.'
Displaying his sense of humour Frankie replied with: 'I feel sorry for them too, because they'll have to watch you in panto next year'.The twitter spat came to an end with James responding:'That's funny coz I'm on a sold out Tour all next year.. Where are you even allowed to perform anymore..'Within a couple of hours the pop star tweeted his 2 million followers that he was quitting the social media site.He wrote: '#LOVE to my fans but I'm coming off twitter for good. HQ will be doing all my tweets from now on. PEACE!'James is currently in Poland to perform on music talent competition TV show 'Must Be The Music'.
