How to Download All Your Instagram Photos in One Fell Swoop

Instagramming is fun, but it can also feel impermanent. After posting a shot and waiting for the likes to roll in, it's easy to forget about the moment you captured; ditto for all the photos you've ever 'liked' in your feed.

You might want to free your Instagram pictures and store them on your computer's hard drive. With a Web tool called Instaport, you can automatically download photos you've taken or liked on the social network.

It's a free, and relatively quick process:

1. First, go to the Instaport website.

2. Click the big orange button that says Sign in with Instagram.

3. You'll have to enter your Instagram account login info.

4. Then you'll need to give the app basic permissions.

5. Once you've made it through those formalities, you'll be brought to the main page of the site, where you can indicate what Instagram photos you want to download to your hard drive. Unfortunately, you can't save anything you sent over Instagram Direct, but everything else is fair game.

You can choose to download everything you've ever posted on Instagram, the last couple of photos you've taken, photos during a specific time period, photos other people posted that you 'liked,' and photos with specific hashtags. You can also specify whether you'd like to include videos posted to your feed. When you're all done, click Start Export.

6. When it's done processing the data, the third box on the screen will alert you the export is complete. If you'd like to donate to Instaport to thank them, you can click Donate & Download. If you don't want to pay anything, click Download only.

7. A .zip file will begin to download! When it's all done, unzip the file, which will be titled instagram_ + the date. And voila, there are all your Instagram photos at your fingertips.

You can go to the Instaport website and free your Instagram photos right here.
