James Franco, 35, has gotten himself into some hot water over his flirtatious ways with a 17-year-old fan on Instagram, and some have taken to Twitter just to voice how creepy James was acting. One fan tweeted: 'I used to think James Franco was beautiful but after seeing those Instagram messages I think he's creepy and weird.' Ouch!

Fans are firing away at James. Most have taken to Twitter to express their shock and disgust at his Instagram flirting while others have simply chosen to mock the Pineapple Express actor.

James Franco Mocked On Twitter By Fans After Disastrous Flirting Stunt With 17-Year-Old Girl
If you don't know how the story unfolded - here is run-down of James' 'creepy' exploits. After a fan, Lucy Clode waited outside of James' Broadway show Of Mice & Men on April 1, to meet him, he allegedly reached out to her and asked her if she wanted to meet up - even though she's half his age.

Lucy, a teen from Scotland visiting NYC with her mother, took pics of James leaving the show as well as a video, both posted on Instagram, and you can hear him saying that she has to post and tag him in it. So that's what she did.
James' actions raise some other questions such as - was this all just a publicity stunt for some new upcoming movie? The same day he hit on Lucy is the same day the trailer for his new movie Palo Alto hit the web.
So, could it be that the incident with the young teen is just to promote the film - in which he plays a teacher seducing a student? Well, one Twitter fan says she ain't buying it:
