AwesomenessTV has agreed to acquire boutique YouTube MCN Big Frame for $15 million, the companies announced on Wednesday.
Founded in 2011 by Sarah Penna and Steve Raymond, Big Frame has created a network of more than 300 YouTube channels that reach more than 39 million subscribers and have generated 3.4 billion total views. Together with AwesomenessTV, the network will reach 80 million subscribers and have nearly one billion views a month.
AwesomenessTV, a teen-focused YouTube network and media firm acquired by DreamWorks Animation in 2013, gains Big Frame's talent roster, executive team and talent managers.
'Sarah and Steve have a great track record for identifying and developing talent, and we believe that working together we can build talent brands that will transcend YouTube,' said AwesomenessTV CEO Brian Robbins. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the month.
