Just in case you were still worried, Lorde and Diplo are totally cool after their Twitter kerfluffle over Taylor Swift the other week. The 18-year-old singer recently spoke with The Fader about the incident and set the record straight.
'I mean, I think often I say things and realize that Americans hear what I say differently to how I hear it,' she said. 'I love Wes [Diplo] and he's a big brother to me and one of my first friends in the industry, and part of having a friendship with someone like that is not letting them say stupid sh-. Taylor's my friend as well, and I'm a girl, and if I see some weird body-shaming on my feed I'm going to be like, 'Hey man...' We do still love each other, hopefully.'
Eyebrows were raised up, up, up last week when Diplo joked on Twitter that Taylor Swift is in need of a booty (because that's basically all that matters now - didn't you hear?) to which Lorde replied, 'Should we do something about your tiny penis while we're at it hm.' Very sophisticated brawl, right? No, your face!
The whole shade-y incident was seemingly put to rest this week, however, when Diplo tweeted at Lorde asking if she would go with him to 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1″ premiere in L.A. (the tweet has since been deleted). Diplo contributed to the soundtrack, which Lorde curated, as Major Lazer, teaming up with Ariana Grande on 'All My Love.' Ella wasn't able to attend - but mostly because she wasn't in town.
Diplo has yet to apologize Taylor, however - but we're sure she's already shaken it off. 'She's probably the most graceful person at being famous that I've seen,' Lorde said of her friend. 'You never want to be the kind of person who is like, 'It's really hard sometimes!' What we do is awesome. It's fucking amazing. You can't not feel lucky, can't not feel hashtag-blessed.'
