How

The signed-in YouTube Home page has been the source of much love and hate since the site's inception. In the early stages of the site, being featured on the front page could make a channel and it was one of the absolute best ways to be discovered. Curated content was featured regularly and watched often. As the site has grown, it has moved away from curated content in favor of a formulaic front page. Now, the YouTube Algorithms scrape your viewing history and figures out just exactly what it is you want to watch next.

If you don't subscribe to many YouTube channels, this can be great, but for those who have found a huge number of channels that they like and subscribe to, there is a simple way to fix the YouTube home page so its more manageable. Instead of signing in to the main YouTube landing page, just set your bookmark to sign into http://ift.tt/1aW1Cig.

Main Signed-in Homepage YouTube User's Subscription's Feed Page Install 'Subscriptions Grid for YouTube' Chrome Extension

To take it one step further, if you are on Chrome add Subscriptions Grid for YouTube. This will make your subscriptions page look more like the homepage, with five videos per row instead of one. This will make it much easier to browse the content that matters to you the most.

If this doesn't do the trick for you, there is one more step you can take to deliver your subscriptions to you in an efficient way. Turn them into an RSS feed. Wait what?! You read that right. You can turn your YouTube subscriptions into an RSS feed and browse them in your favorite reader by simply adding an entry for:

There is one little trick to this method if you find that your list is 'forbidden'. Set your feed to public by going to http://ift.tt/1wwWwT3 and unchecking 'Keep all my subscriptions private'. This will make your subscriptions available to anyone with a prying eye though, so if you're ashamed of being subscribed to One Direction, you may want to keep it private.

Whether you love or hate the current home page, these helpful changes will ensure that you get the most out of your viewing experience. Go change your bookmark now and you can thank me later.
