It sure didn't take long for DeSean Jackson to fall out of love with his new team.
On Monday, he made a thinly veiled criticism of the Redskins, posting a picture on Instagram that read simply: 'You can't do epic s--- with basic people.'
And despite all the attention it drew, Jackson didn't back away from that comment when asked about it Thursday.
'Whoever feels like it's directed at him, that's who it's directed at,' Jackson told CSN Washington.
Interesting route for Jackson to take, essentially telling his teammates that if you were offended, you were the target.
It has been difficult indeed for Jackson to do epic s--- this season. His individual numbers are impressive - 40 catches for 819 yards and four touchdowns, with an NFL-leading 20.5 yards per reception - but Washington is 3-7 and lost by 20 points at home to a one-win Tampa Bay team last Sunday. Jackson, who has worked with three different starting quarterbacks this season, caught four passes for 35 yards from Robert Griffin III.
Jackson's bit of controversy was not the only one to come out of the District this week. Griffin, who has been more willing than most quarterbacks to spread blame when his team scuffles, commented after the loss to the Buccaneers that even the best QBs struggle when those around him aren't playing at a high level. On Thursday, former 'Skins tight end Chris Cooley responded by ripping RG3.
Drama, drama, drama. Maybe Jay Gruden should give his skill players a bit less leeway.
