YouTube released an updated version of its iPhone app today optimized for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus screen sizes. This means you can see more video suggestions from the main page as well as well favorites and subscriptions from the side bar.
The status bar and keyboard are also native to the larger iPhone models versus the previously scaled up versions on the new iPhones with the old app. Below you can see how the app previous appeared for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users before the update.
YouTube 2.13 for iPhone and iPad also includes a number of bug fixes for the app:
* Prevent the status bar from overlapping the UI* Address keyboard orientation issues* Make scrubbing more responsive* Show all playlists when adding videos
Google, which owns YouTube, has already released updates to some of its other iPhone apps including Gmail, although its primary Google app and Google Maps app are still pending updates for new iPhone users.
YouTube for iPhone and iPad is available for free on the App Store.
