Fred Seibert's Channel Frederator Network has signed a deal with British animator Simon Tofield, creator of Simon's Cat - one of the most popular cartoon channels on YouTube - to handle advertising and distribution on behalf of the anthropomorphic kitty cartoon.
The Simon's Cat channel on YouTube, featuring the antics of a pet puss constantly on the hunt to get fed, has 2.8 million subscribers and more than 470 million views to date of its programming, plus more than 1.5 million Facebook fans. The Channel Frederator Network has generated more than 1 billion views to date (with an average of 30 million views a month) across its network of more than 130 channels, including Cartoon Hangover.
'Fred Seibert and his team have been able to curate some of the most exciting animation creators in the world right now, and it is an honor to appear alongside them,' Tofield said in a statement. Added Seibert, 'We are honored to work with the phenomenal talents behind Simon's Cat, who are truly proof of the fact that the Internet has ushered in a new golden age of animation.'
The Channel Frederator Network was launched by Fred Seibert, former president of Hanna-Barbera, and his team at Frederator Studios, the producers behind Butch Hartman's 'Fairly OddParents' on Nickelodeon and Pen Ward's 'Adventure Time' currently airing on Cartoon Network.
Frederator Networks programs online channels Channel Frederator and Cartoon Hangover and manages the Channel Frederator Network, a YouTube-based animation and entertainment multichannel network. Launched in late 2012, Frederator's Cartoon Hangover channel includes series 'Bravest Warriors' from Pen Ward and Natasha Allegri's 'Bee and PuppyCat.'
