Top 100 Most Viewed YouTube Channels Worldwide • January 2014

It's time for another installment of our monthly Tubefilter Top 100 Most Viewed YouTube Channels Chart and PewDiePie is a serious force of the internet.


Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg's PewDiePie channel is in the #1 spot on the Top 100 for its second month running. The channel in possession of the most subscribers on YouTube (now with over 23 million of them) scored nearly 266.7 million views in January 2014. That's a 19% increase over his numbers from December and equates to roughly 8.6 million views a day, 358,170 views an hour, 5,969 views a minute, and 99 views a second.


Top Gainers

In a distant second is the the most unexpected of incredibly successful YouTube channels, DisneyCollectorBR. The collection of unboxing videos and critiques of children's toys ended the month with nearly 175.6 million views. Next up is Zefr's MovieClips Trailers channel. The online video repository of exactly the kinds of videos you would think based on the channel's name witnessed a 57% month-over-month increase in views to end up with almost 154.7 million views in the 31 days of January.


Katy Perry's ' Unconditionally' supportive fans kept her in the #4 position for her second month in a row. The pop star's YouTube channel garnered just about 150.7 million views during the month. And rounding out the Top 5 is Spinnin Records. The self-proclaimed 'World's #1 Dance Channel' attracted almost 145.9 million views in January.


Channel Distribution

One of our Top Gainers this month is Disney Animation, which had a so-cold-it-was-hot January.


Thanks to the seemingly neverending popularity of its latest major motion picture, Frozen, the channel that's home to a comprehensive clip and behind-the-scenes library of Disney's recent animated initiatives saw an 80% month-over-month increase in views. The film's most popular track, 'Let It Go' gave the channel the lion's share of its nearly 100.7 million views in January and bumped it up to #18 on the charts.


The Top 100 Most Viewed YouTube channels in December amassed in aggregate a total of 6,913,735,153 views. Here's a look at the distribution of those channels broken down by the most-represented YouTube Multi-Channel Networks on the chart:


VEVO: 20 channels in the Top 100. Katey Perry is the network's highest ranking channel at #4. Maker Studios: 8 channels in the Top 100, with PewDiePie at #1. Machinima, WMG: 4 channels each in the Top 100, with Machinima's SkyDoesMinecraft at #21 and WMG's Atlantic Videos at #41. Fullscreen: 3 channels in the Top 100, with TheFineBros at #31. DEFY Media, Disney, Munhwa, XMediaDigital, and Zefr: 2 channels each in the Top 100, with DEFY's Smosh at #25, Disney's DisneyAnimation at #35, Munhwa's MBCEntertainment at #56, XMediaDigital's mashamedvedtvet at #19, and Zefr's MovieClipsTrailers at #3.
