Richie Incognito quits Twitter, no indication of revival

DAVIE - Richie Incognito truly has quit Twitter.

Incognito, the troubled Dolphins guard named in the Ted Wells report as the instigator of the harassment toward Jonathan Martin, took down his Twitter account Friday, saying 'Goodbye, twitter. Be well. See you on the other side.'

After more than 36 hours the account remains deleted. It hasn't been brought back to life, and there's no indication Incognito is on Twitter under another handle.

This is probably one of the best things Incognito could if he hopes to resume his NFL career.

And it'll be interesting to see whether Incognito, someone who previously didn't hold back on Twitter, maintains his silence.

Mark Schamel, Incognito's attorney, has said he'll prepare a 'thorough analysis' on the Wells report, which he described as 'replete with errors.'

Incognito fell silent on Twitter for a few weeks after the initial wave of bad publicity in this scandal in November. But his account remained active.

Incognito's final day on Twitter, Valentine's Day, the day the Wells report was released, was marked by him defending himself and re-tweeting several insults directed his way.

He also tweeted at one point, 'I guess I'm as dumb as I look.'

Incognito made headlines several times with his rants on Twitter. One of his recent rants included Incognito tweeting Jonathan Martin told him he'd contemplated suicide. Incognito also challenged media members and Martin's agent, Kenneth Zuckerman, among others.

For the sake of continuing his NFL career, it would have been advisable for Incognito to delete his Twitter account. And the longer it stays silent, the more it appears Incognito might be taking a step toward getting on another NFL roster.
