Muslims Worldwide Sign Petition to Ban Blasphemous Katy Perry Video from ...

A petition aimed at banning a new music video from Katy Perry is beginning to gain steam. The petition, which has over 30,000 signatures so far, rails at Perry over the video for her new song, 'Dark Horse,' in which a man wearing a pendant which features the word 'God' in Arabic is vaporized by Perry.

The video, set in ancient Egypt, features a queen-like Perry zapping a man wearing the 'God' pendant who eventually disintegrates into a pile of sand.

The anti-Perry petition insists 'that people from different walks of life, different religions and from different parts of the world, agree that the video promotes blasphemy, using the name of God in an irrelevant and distasteful manner would be considered inappropriate by any religion.'

The video launched on YouTube on February 20 and has already amassed nearly 30 million online views.
