Apologetic Richie Incognito returns to Twitter, says sorry to ex

It didn't take long for Richie Incognito to have a social media change of heart.

Incognito, who said he was done with Twitter ('Goodbye twitter. Be well ... see you on the other side') on the same day an NFL investigator found that he had harassed his Dolphins teammate Jonathan Martin, returned with a series of apologetic tweets on Monday night and Tuesday morning.

Incognito (68@INCOGNITO), who was suspended by the Dolphins after Martin left the team on Oct. 28 amid claims of bullying, told his 90,000-plus followers that he had been acting like a baby and that he wanted to apologize.

'I apologize for acting like a big baby the last few days,' Incognito, now a free agent, wrote. 'This has all been so much on me and my family. I just want to play football'

Ted Wells, a New York attorney who was hired by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to investigate the shocking claims of abuse in the Dolphins locker room, released his explosive report on Friday. Well's report concluded that Incognito and two other offensive linemen engaged in a pattern of persistent and destructive harassment against Martin.

'I want everyone to know I'm in good spirits and looking forward to playing again one day,' Incognito wrote in a follow-up tweet.

Martin, who was in his second season in Miami at the time he walked away from the Dolphins, said he felt 'vindicated' by the report, according to his agent Kenneth Zuckerman.

'I would like to send Jonathan my apologies as well,' Incognito added. 'Until someone tells me different you are still by brother. No hard feeling :)'

The NFL has not said if Incognito faces further punishment based on Wells' report.
