It's another installment of the weekly Tubefilter Chart of the Top 50 Most Viewed U.S. YouTube Channels and Katy Perry is still getting unconditional support from her fans.
Queen Bee didn't stay at the top for long. The handful of music video previews for Beyoncé Knowles super-secret and super-successful new album release shot Mrs. Carter's personal YouTube channel up to the top of the charts last week, but they couldn't sustain her in that #1 spot. Katy Perry fans still support her Unconditionally and helped the 29-year-old pop star score over 36.2 million views to claim the #1 position on the Top 50.
Top Gainers
Perry is followed by Ellen DeGeneres, whose YouTube channel for her eponymous daytime talk show racked up more than 35.9 million views on the week. One of Beyoncé's channels came in next at third. While the singer's personal channel was pushed out of the Top 50, her VEVO channel shot up 62% on the week to top out at 34.1 million views, mostly due to how she and her fans are all Drunk In Love.
DisneyCollectorBR is up next in the #4 position. The online video repository of tutorial and playtime videos for adolescent toys accumulated nearly 30.6 million views in the last seven days. And All That Matters is Justin Bieber rounds out the Top 5, with almost 30.5 million views in the last seven days.
Channel Distribution
The honor of one our Top Gainers this week goes to Epic Rap Battles of History. The online video repository of sick rhymes uttered by some of the world's and fiction's most famous and infamous personalities witnessed a 122% week-over-week increase in views, to top out at nearly 18.6 million views in the last seven days and the #13 spot on the U.S. Top 50.
The jump is thanks to 1) replays of last year's instant classic holiday battle featuring an ice cold Santa up against a smokin' hot Moses and 2) the new release of Ebenezer Scrooge vs. the real-world scrooge that is Donald Trump. Check it out:
All in all, the top 50 most viewed U.S. YouTube channels this week amassed a total of 828,624,671 views. Here's the distribution of those channels by multi-channel network:
