Jolijt Tamanaha, the Washington University undergraduate student who co-founded Farmplicity, will participate in a Google+ hangout with the White House on Friday. http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2013/11/20/we-geeks-student-startups
The hangout, called Student Startups, will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday. You can tune into the hangout by going to WhiteHouse.gov/WeTheGeeks or the White House Google+ page.
Farmplicity is a website that allows farmers to sell directly to St. Louis-area restaurants. The startup is one of seven finalists for Washington University's Olin Cup competition.
Other panelists on the We The Geeks hangout include, Barbara Corcoran, a real estate mogul and celebrity investor on ABC's reality show Shark Tank; Daymond John, an entrepreneur and another Shark Tank investor; Jenny Corbin, former graduate student at University of Louisville and co-founder of TNG Pharmaceuticals; Jared Karp, an undergraduate student at the University of California, Berkeley and co-founder of Design Engineering; and Spencer Quinn, an undergraduate at Brigham Young University and co-founder of FiberFix.
According to the White House, the student entrepreneurs and business moguls will talk about how anyone can cultivate a culture of entrepreneurship in his or her own community.
