Aiming to expand its international footprint, Twitter announced this week that it intends to double the size of its Dublin, Ireland, office staff over the coming year.
Twitter Dublin, the company's main European presence, currently houses about 100 employees. Twitter hopes to double that number by the end of 2014.
The push comes as Twitter has started to send some of its top San Francisco employees to overseas positions to spearhead growth and sales outside of the U.S. Earlier this year, VP of international growth Katie Jacobs Stanton took a position in Twitter's Paris office, where she'll continue traveling and evangelizing the use of Twitter in the EMEA region. Shailesh Rao, VP of international sales, also moved from San Francisco to head up sales in Twitter's Singapore-based offices.
And the Dublin office in particular received two San Francisco transplants over the past few months: VP of direct sales Ali Jafari and director of brand strategy Josh Grau both recently moved from San Francisco to join Twitter Dublin.
Twitter Dublin looks to hire for an assortment of position types (mostly business-related), as was first reported by RTE News, including sales, HR, finance and marketing positions.
