Amanda Bynes Debuts New Purple Hair on Twitter

Eight days after Amanda Bynes successfully petitioned to be released from her involuntary stay in a psychiatric facility, the troubled starlet has debuted her new purple hair on Twitter.

'I dyed my hair violet :D I'm not sure if I like it , and this is a blurry pic but here it is!' she captioned the Twitpic she posted Friday night.

After her dye job, the actress headed to The Standard Hotel in West Hollywood, PEOPLE confirms.

The lighthearted Tweet stands in stark contrast to many eyebrow-raising social-media messages she's posted since she was discharged on Oct. 30.

Her release came just three days after a judge ruled that she needed to spend another month in the facility, after her doctors petitioned to extend the hold.

Since her release, Bynes has lashed out at her parents on social media and was photographed napping on a couch at the Beverly Center.

Bynes, 28, who recently sent a Tweet saying she is bipolar on Twitter, has blamed her parents for her recent troubles on social media.

'I hate my parents for still not giving me money for a hotel,' she said in a Tweet, explaining why she fell asleep at the mall.

Bynes's mother, Lynn, currently serves as her official conservator, overseeing her finances, medical care and day-to-day needs. However, PEOPLE recently learned that her mother is attempting to transfer medical care and day-to-day responsibilities to a private professional conservator.

'Her parents love her so much that they are willing to relinquish this little bit of control,' the source tells PEOPLE. 'Her mother being conservator is not doing her any good, and Amanda is not progressing.'
