3 Unique YouTube Perks for Non

Are you a non-profit organization or charity and are active on YouTube? Did you know that you can access some very special features and perks from YouTube because of your status? Google wants to support you with free, or highly discounted features. On this week's Creator's Tip, we bring you an overview of the features you can use on YouTube if you are a non-profit organization.

YouTube Perks for Non-profit Organizations

Not everyone on YouTube is a marketer, or a brand, or a for-profit business. Many of you may be working for non-profit organizations, promoting awareness of, and raising visibility for, a cause. YouTube has made certain features available to non-profits if they fulfill the necessary criteria including:

Call to Action Overlays A Donation Button Google Ad Grants for YouTube Advertising Campaigns Call-to-Action Overlays with Website Link

The Google Non-profits Program allows eligible organizations to increase their visibility across the internet. One way of doing this is via support to set up annotations with in-video links directly to any website landing page. You can use this box to place a description, a headline, a thumbnail and a display URL. Once you have been accepted on the program, Google will supply clear instructions about setting this feature up. You can see an example of this type of overlay from the videos on the Charity:water YouTube channel.

YouTube Channel Donation Button

If you are a non-profit organization that has been accepted to Google's program, you can add a 'Donate' button on the front of your YouTube channel. This will allow viewers to contribute to your cause, and allow you to accept those donations via Google Wallet. Viewers won't even have to leave YouTube to do so!

Google Ad Grants for Paid Advertising Campaigns

If you are eligible, you can also apply for a Google Ad Grant to set up a free Adwords campaign. Paid advertising is a very effective method of driving traffic to a video, or to your YouTube channel, or to your website, so it's very worthwhile applying for this extra help.
