It's time for another installment of our monthly Tubefilter Top 100 Most Viewed YouTube Channels Chart and PewDiePie is still in that #1 spot.
For its sixth month in a row, Felix Kjellberg's PewDiePie channel is at the top of the charts. But what's more impressive is the destination for Let's Play videos, charitable campaigns, and the sporadic look into Kjellberg's life keeps scoring more views than it did the month before. PewDiePie amassed over 449.2 million views in the 31 days of August, a 2% uptick over the month prior.
Top Gainers
Long-time chart topper DisneyCollectorBR is up next in second place. The online video channel that features adults showcasing children's toys (and was recently discovered by the New York Times) witnessed a 21% month-over-month increase in views to net out at more than 324.4 million. In the #3 spot is Katy Perry. The pop star's online video release of ' This Is How We Do' helped push Perry's channel up 29% to more than 226.1 million views on the month.
StampyLongHead is in fourth place. The UK-based online video gamer with a penchant for Minecraft and education scored nearly 217.9 million views on the month. And rounding out the Top 5 is Enrique Iglesias. The internationally renowned multi-hyphenate's collection of music videos accumulated more than 202.2 million views in August.
Channel Distribution
The honor of being one of our Top Gainers this month goes to Nicki Minaj.
The hip hop star got back into the top 100 (did you see what I did there?) thanks to the release of her ' Anaconda' music video. Four minutes and 49 seconds of risque visuals and salacious lyrics quickly amassed a nine-figure view count, which helped Minaj's channel end the month up 258% in views. The channel topped out at almost 187.1 million views and the #7 spot in the world on the month.
