InterCall Integrates Audio Conferencing with Google+ Hangouts

InterCall, a conferencing and collaboration services provider, launched InterCall for Hangouts featuring integrated InterCall's Reservationless-Plus audio conferencing service with Google+ Hangouts. The newly integrated service offers on-demand scheduling with Hangouts, also allowing more on- and off-network participants to join each meeting.


Every Hangouts user receives a global PSTN dial-in number set and has the capability to include up to 150 audio participants in a meeting. The service also includes meeting controls such as scheduling, participant management, and security. Conferencing service bundles start at $29 for 500 minutes.


Other features of the InterCall for Hangouts service include:


A single agreement for more than 100 countries for global toll-free and toll dial-in numbers InterCall for Hangout sessions scheduled directly from Google Calendar A hybrid VoIP and PSTN conferencing platform lets users join regardless of connection The ability to continue the audio conference when participants drop from the Hangouts portion of the meeting

Commenting in a statement on the new service, Rob Bellmar, EVP of Conferencing and Collaboration at InterCall, said, 'Directly integrating our Reservationless-Plus with Hangouts lets us leverage both platforms to give users from companies of all sizes more access, while providing a better and more reliable conferencing experience.'


In other news, Mitel announced today that it has offered to acquire ShoreTel; however according to the Mitel news release, ShoreTel has turned down Mitel's offer. Mitel's cash offer, at $540 million USD, represents a 24% premium to ShoreTel's closing stock price on October 17, 2014; the offer will remain open until November 20, 2014. However, according to the offer letter from Mitel 'no binding commitment will exist unless and until a mutually acceptable definitive agreement is executed.'
