The message was deleted after about half an hour

Snoop Dogg appeared to make a shocking anti-gay slur at a fellow Instagram user in the early hours of this morning.

The musician posted the message alongside a screenshot of another user's social media photo, showing two men hugging.

He reportedly wrote: 'U n ya boyfriend since u like Jumpn on my page disrespectn b**** boy go suck ya man n get off my line f**.'

The comment and photo were shared on his own Instagram page, Buzzfeed reports, as well as being tweeted - and both were deleted around half an hour later with no explanation.

Fans were quick to express their shock, with one simply writing: 'Wow.'

Shocking

We have contacted reps for Snoop for comment.

Snoop has revealed he is in favour of gay marriages in the past, but explained the difference of perspective in rap music in an interview with The Guardian last year - claiming he doubts homosexuality will ever be accepted in the music genre.

Speaking about fellow artist Frank Ocean - who openly blogged about falling in love with a man - Snoop said: 'Frank Ocean ain't no rapper. He's a singer.

'It's acceptable in the singing world, but in the rap world I don't know if it will ever be acceptable because rap is so masculine.

'It's like a football team. You can't be in a locker room full of motherf***ing tough a** dudes, then all of a sudden say, 'Hey, man, I like you.' You know, that's going to be tough.'
