Luke Darcy AFL commentary blunder has him trending on Twitter

Every word scrutinised.

Every mistake there for the world to see.

Just ask AFL commentator Luke Darcy, who was trending on Twitter during Saturday's preliminary final between Hawthorn and Port Adelaide for all the wrong reasons.

The Twitterati don't miss much, so when Darcy unfortunately declared, 'The lights are coming on, it is getting a bit overcast,' the tweets flew in thick and fast.

You see, it was nearing 6pm at the MCG.

Night time.

Hahahaha Luke Darcy worldwide trend, lights on, no-one is home #AFLHawksPower

Yes Luke Darcy, it's perfectly impractical to have the lights on for a twighlight game. #knob

Turning the lights on in the dark Luke Darcy? Really!!!! #idiot #AFLHawksPower

Luke Darcy clearly taken an interest in twilight games this season

The insults didn't stop there, either, with AFL fans also paying out the former Western Bulldogs star over his pronunciation and other fairly obvious observations.

Does anyone know where Pordalaide is? Apparently that's who is playing in the footy according to Luke Darcy. #AFLHawksPower

Asked Luke Darcy at HT for his thoughts on how 2nd half plays out. He's convinced the team that kicks the highest score wins #AFLHawksPower

Ease up on Luke Darcy, he's still trying to work out what exactly happened yesterday... #AFLHawksPower #ASADAverdict
