With seconds left in the game Sunday night, the United State's hopes of breezing into the next round of the World Cup were dashed - but their loss (or, well, tie) was Twitter's gain.
After Portugal's reigning star Cristiano Ronaldo crossed the ball to teammate Silvestre Varela, who headed it into the goal to settle the game 2-2, the internet exploded with shock, anguish and every emotion in between.
