Support your World Cup squad: Google+ lets users paint faces in flag colors

Google+ may be slowly going bye-bye, but that isn't stopping the social media service from getting in World Cup spirit.

Google+ unveiled a cool feature today that automatically paints the color of faces in a World Cup competing team of your choice.

For the 16 teams that qualified in the World Cup knockout rounds, Google has enabled hashtags that you can attach to photos and enable the new feature. For example, by adding '#PaintUSA' to any photo, you'll get something like our photo on the right.

The overlay effect works for any of the 16 teams. Simply use #Paint[country name], wait a few minutes, and you'll have the country's colors painted all over your face.

So if you've always wanted to paint your face to show support for a team, but never wanted to actually have paint on your face, well, Google+ is here for you.

Programming note: The U.S men's national team plays Belgium at 1 p.m. PT this Tuesday.
