Francesa videos pulled from YouTube over copyright

Not only is Mike Francessa gone from our TVs (Not completely, but he might as well be, getting bumped by everything from Champions League soccer to NASCAR practices on Fox Sports 1), he's beginning to disappear from YouTube.

CBS flexed its corporate muscle Thursday and ordered that the @WFANAudio Twitter user remove dozens and dozens of Francesa clips from his extremely popular and entertaining YouTube page. Mr. WFANAudio broke the news - where else?- on Twitter.

'CBS has claimed copyright infringement on hundreds of videos on my YouTube page, and they have been removed,' he wrote.

'For the record, I'd like to say, I've never made a penny on any of these videos. Just a mongo fan of @WFAN660/Sports.'

'That said, the content is obviously WFAN/CBS, so they can do whatever they want. There will be no further audios posted to my YouTube page.'

When contacted by The News, @WFANAudio chose not to elaborate much on his initial tweets, saying that CBS contacted him through YouTube and he was instructed that if any more of his videos were flagged - in total, 88 were flagged and removed - his account would be suspended. Rather than tangle with the evil corporate giant, @WFANAudio is giving up YouTube cold turkey, announcing that he'll no longer post Francesa audio clips online.

Sad news, for sure, and a foolish, bully decision by CBS, but there is good news. The @WFANAudio Twitter account will continue, just without the audio.
