How to save Instagram photos to a laptop or PC: Instaport
The quickest and easiest way to save Instagram photos on your laptop or PC is to use the website Instaport on your computer. This is a service that will log in to your Instagram account and automatically download all of your photos to a zip file at the click of the button. Here's how to use Instaport:

Go to the website www.instaport.me and enter your Instagram login details. (See also How to transfer photos from computer to iPhone the easy way.)
The next thing you need to do is enter the number/date range of photos you want to download [this is all self-explanatory] and then click the New Export button.
Now all you have to do is wait. Depending on how many photos you have in your Instagram account, the downloading time will vary.
Once the download is complete, you will simply have to unzip the file that is downloaded and all of your Instagram photos will be neatly stored as jpeg files.
The alternative way to save your Instagram photos is to save them as you take them on your smartphone.
to do this, open Instagram on your smartphone and go to your profile. From here you need to go to Options (this is a cog symbol if you are on an iOS device, or three verticle dots if you are using Android).
Now ensure that the Save To Library switch is turned on. Once this is on, all the pictures you take from the Instagram app will be saved to your camera album. The next time you back up your phone to your PC or laptop, your instagram pictures will be uploaded too.
How to save Instagram photos to your laptop or PC via Facebook
The final way you can save your Instagram photos to your laptop or PC is by linking you account to Facebook and then manually saving them one by one.
This is a bit of a laborious method, but it can be done by linking Instragram to your Facebook account via the options menu in your Instagram app on your smartphone.
From here you can view all your Instragram photos on Facebook by going to yoru Profile > Photos > Albums > Instagram photos. Your next (time consuming) task is to enlarge each photo you want to save, right click on it, and select Save Image As...
You then simply need to select where you want to save the file and the photo will be downloaded as a jpeg.
