This Saturday, Sasheer Zamata, the first African-American female cast member since Maya Rudolph, is set to make her debut on Saturday Night Live. A relative unknown to most viewers, odds are she'll quickly become a household name.

But who the heck is Sasheer Zamata?

I tried to set up an interview with her (actually I just threw a brick through the windows of five New York buildings with a note that said 'CALL ME SASHEER!'), but that proved unfruitful. Let's see what we can expect based on her Tumblr page ...

She has a hilarious web-series called 'Pursuit of Sexiness' with her best friend Nicky Byer (also a member of the Upright Citizen's Brigade).

Both Nicky and Sasheer auditioned for SNL, and based on their web-series, either could have landed the role.
