pub fires chef, forgets he's in charge of Twitter account

The head chef laid into his employers on Twitter (Picture: Twitter/@ploughpub)

This time it's a head chef at Oxfordshire pub The Plough who let all of its 2,000 followers on the site know he had been sacked.

'Unfortunately he wanted to have a weekend off this month and Christmas Day this year for family commitments so we thought we'd sack him,' the mocking revelations began.

@ LeKeg1 it's my daughters first Christmas. I wouldn't miss that for ANYTHING.- Jim Knight (@chefjimknight) December 15, 2013

The employee, believed to be Jim Knight, poured scorn on the timing of his dismissal, adding: 'Yeah a week before Christmas!

'We don't care that he has a 7 1/2 month old baby daughter.'

On his personal Twitter account he explained he did not hack the pub's account but had created it himself with permission from his now ex-employers.

His series of messages to the world using the pub's page have been retweeted hundreds of times and this morning he simply said: 'Blimey.'

Right, night everyone. Thank you for the kind words. I had no idea this would escalate so quickly. See you in the job centre tomorrow. X- Jim Knight (@chefjimknight) December 16, 2013
