'Most Liked' Instagram Photo of 2013 Is Justin Bieber's Pic With Will Smith

A photo of Justin Bieber posing with Will Smith has been named the 'most liked' Instagram photo of the year. The pic, which features the pop star mugging for the camera while Will flashes the peace sign, was uploaded by Justin in August, and has already racked up over 1.5 million 'likes.'

On Friday, Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom revealed on The Today Show that the photo created such a buzz because it featured two huge stars.

'I just think that people love pictures of people and it seemed like a fun picture, they were having fun,' he said.

Although the photo, which Justin captioned 'Me and Uncle Will,' didn't show the stars doing anything extraordinary, the fact that Justin has over 12 million followers on Instagram may have helped it snag the 'Most Liked' title. Will Smith, however, does not use the social media network.

Systrom also revealed that '#love,' was the most hash-tagged word on Instagram this year, followed by 'Throwback Thursday' and 'Food.'
