We've gotten a ton of great feedback since we launched our Tubefilter Charts back in May 2013, which initially documented the Top 50 Most Viewed YouTube Channels Worldwide each week. That feedback has spawned at least two new iterations of our Tubefilter Charts in the days since:
A U.S. version that ranks the top channels that call America home by weekly views. This monthly ranking you're looking at right now of the Top 100 Most Viewed YouTube Channels worldwide.
This is the first installment of our monthly charts series. It's put together with data from June 1 through June 30, and if you've been following our weekly charts, there are no surprises at the top list. But first, here are a few interesting overall data points:
The Top 100 Most Viewed YouTube Channels in June 2013 accounted for 5,260,280,651 views. 20 different countries are represented within those 100 channels. The YouTube representation of those 100 channels is broken up amongst 27 different large and small multi-channel networks. To even rank on the Top 100 Most Viewed YouTube channels of the month, a channel's videos must've been watched more than 29.951 million times.
Now, taking a look at the individual channels on the list, PewDiePie is of course in the #1 spot. The 23-year-old Swedish gamer garnered 208.3 million views during the month of June, putting him well ahead of the Turkish Phonographic Industry Society's MÜ-YAP channel by nearly 25 million views.
Psy song and danced his way just shy of 150 million views in the 30-day time period to round out the Top 3, while US-based YouTube gaming sensation SkyDoesMinecraft came in at #4 with 135.2 million views for the month. The most popular television program in the Arab world, ArabIdol attracted 111.2 million views on YouTube (due in large part to the season's late-June finale) to take home fifth place. It's also worth noting Zefr's movieclipsTrailers was the only other channel to amass more than 100 million views during the month of June. It received 106.8 million views, which was good for the #6 spot.
Here's a look into the distribution of the Top 100 Most Viewed Monthly YouTube Channels by multi-channel network:
