Man kills friend for poking girlfriend on Facebook

Nottinghamshire Police

A British man has been jailed for killing a friend who 'poked' his girlfriend on Facebook.

Scott Humphrey has been sent to prison for four years after repeatedly punching Richard Rovetto, reports The Mirror.

A court in England heard that Humphrey, 27, pounded on Rovet, asking: 'If you're such a good friend why did you poke my missus?'

Humphrey then punched father-of-one Rovetto to the floor who banged his head on the pavement. The argument happened as the pair were travelling in a taxi, in Nottingham, central England.

Rovetto, 29, died hours later.

Humphrey admitted a charge of manslaughter and his legal team said he was 'genuinely remorseful'.

Rovetto's brother-in-law, Jason Burley-Evans, said after the verdict that the 'sentence wasn't the justice we wanted for Richard'.
